Annual Hub's Meeting - Ghana

During the first week of September, the members of Latin-MH attended the Collaborative Hubs for International Research on Mental Health:Fourth Annual Grantee Workshop. The meeting was held in Accra, Ghana from August 31st to September 2nd.
It was a great opportunity to discuss the work we have being doing and to see what the other hubs are working on.
The members also had the opportunity to participate in a workshop on Assessing Value Across and Within the Hubs lead by Dan Chisholm from the World Health Organization and Hanani Tabana from the University of the Western Cape.
We also some social activities planned that gave us the opportunity to experience some of the local culture.
During the week's activities it was announced that the next Annual Meeting will take place in São Paulo, Brazil, in September 2016.

Opportunities

Fellowships linked to Hub: There will be opportunities to link with other programs so that their fellows can join our projects and vice versa. We have a list of potential funders for fellowships and we can provide support to develop a proposal for a small number of highly promising young researchers. Our capacity building program will be offering this support to the incoming fellows.

Seed grants: Our Senior researchers are working with less experienced colleagues to help them prepare proposals for seed grants. We have had several recent successes with this initiative.

Postgraduate degrees: It is possible to register with the USP to pursue higher degrees without paying fees (Consult with This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

Other opportunities: We will be soon announcing the launching of our training program and there will be opportunities to join in.
